• Foreigners and stateless persons who have arrived in Ukraine for employment or have obtained a Work Permit.
• Participants of international technical assistance projects registered in Ukraine.
• Foreigners who arrived for the purpose of preaching religious beliefs or other canonical activities.
• Representatives of foreign non-governmental organisations registered in Ukraine.
• Employees of representative offices of foreign business entities or banks.
• Foreigners engaged in cultural, scientific or educational activities, as well as participants in volunteer programmes.
• Medical workers and rehabilitation specialists who came to Ukraine on a volunteer basis during martial law.
• Correspondents or representatives of foreign media.
• Founders or beneficiaries of Ukrainian legal entities with a shareholding of at least EUR 100 thousand.
• Foreigners who came to study in Ukraine.
• Persons who came for the purpose of family reunification with Ukrainian citizens.
• Foreigners who provided instructional assistance to units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other military formations of Ukraine.
• Persons recognised as stateless in accordance with the procedure established by law.

List of documents required to apply for a Temporary Residence Permit (TRP) in Ukraine?

In order to obtain a Temporary Residence Permit (TRP) in Ukraine, you need to prepare a certain set of documents. The specific list may vary slightly depending on the grounds for obtaining a Residence Permit (work, study, family reunification, etc.), but in general, the standard set of documents is as follows:

1. Application

• Filled out in the prescribed form.

2. Foreigner's passport

• Original or copy (Ukrainian translation, notarised).

3. Visa (Type D)

• If required (There may be exceptions for citizens of countries that have a visa-free regime with Ukraine).

4. Document confirming the grounds for obtaining a TRP
Depending on the grounds:

• For work: Work Permit or a contract with an employer.
• For study: an invitation from an educational institution or confirmation of enrolment.
• For family reunification: documents confirming family ties.
• Other grounds: documents confirming the relevant grounds (e.g. participation in international projects, volunteering, etc.).

5. Medical Certificate

• A certificate on absence of diseases that may be grounds for refusal to issue a TRP.

6. Medical Insurance

• Valid for the entire period of stay in Ukraine.

7. Certificate of No Criminal Record

• May be required in some cases.

8. Document confirming the place of residence in Ukraine

• A rental agreement or a notarised statement from the host party.

9. Receipt for payment of state duty or administrative fee

Document submission procedur

1. Preparation of documents – translation and notarisation (if required).
2. Submission of documents to the Migration Service (State Migration Service of Ukraine).
3. Awaiting a decision – usually within 15 business days.
4. Receiving a Residence Permit.
