In accordance with the Article 4 of the Law of Ukraine “On the Legal Status of Foreigners and Stateless Persons”, foreigners may obtain a Temporary Residence Permit on the basis of participation in volunteer and community programmes registered in Ukraine. This applies to persons who have arrived to participate in the activities of organisations that engage volunteers in accordance with the Law of Ukraine “On Volunteering”.
Documents required for obtaining a Temporary Residence Permit for volunteers:
To obtain a Temporary Residence Permit, a foreign volunteer needs to submit the following documents:
- Application: filled out in the prescribed form.
- Foreigner's passport: original and a copy with a notarised translation into Ukrainian.
- Type D Visa: if it is required for citizens of the respective countries.
- Document confirming the grounds for obtaining a Permit: an agreement with the organisation engaging the volunteer and an Extract from the Unified Register of Volunteer Organisations.
- Confirmation letter from the Charity Foundation: confirming participation in the volunteer programme.
- Medical Insurance Policy: valid for the entire period of stay in Ukraine.
- Document confirming the place of residence in Ukraine: a Rental Agreement or a statement from the host party.
- Receipt for payment of state duty or administrative fee.

- Preparing the documents: translation and notarisation of the required documents.
- Submitting the documents: applying to the territorial unit of the State Migration Service of Ukraine at the place of residence.
